For satellite television, two main bands are used: C - band (3.5 - 4.2 GHz) and Ku-band (10.7 - 12.75 GHz). European satellites broadcast mainly in the Ku-band. Russian and Asian satellites usually broadcast on both frequency bands. The Ku-band is conditionally divided into three sub-bands. The first band (10.7 - 11.8GHz) is called the FSS band. The second band (11.8-12.5GHz) is called the DBS band. The third range (12.5-12.75 GHz) is named after the French Telecom satellites that use these frequencies for broadcasting. Accordingly, there are three types of Ku-converters: single-band with a frequency band of 10.7 - 11.8 GHz, dual-band - 10.7 - 12.5 GHz. and tri-band (or Full Band, Wide Band, Triple) with a frequency band of 10.7 - 12.75 GHz.
