How to choose a video camera?

A video camera is a useful thing. And, well, very pleasant. After all, when shooting, all emotions and events are saved. The video recording is truly a “living” memory.
Many digital cameras are equipped with a video recording function, but no one will deny that the level of video recording in a camcorder is still much higher.
Choosing a good video camera is not so easy, because this technique really has a lot of characteristics and additional features. So, consider the basic parameters for choosing a video camera.
Camcorder recording format
Camcorders are capable of recording in digital formats such as Digital 8, mini DV, micro MV, DVD, Mpeg 4. Camcorders operating in the first three formats still use tape recording, but in digital quality.
Camcorders with Digital 8 recording format are chosen by those who still have recordings in analog Hi 8 formats. These camcorders make it possible not only to view video in Hi 8 format, but also to digitize in Digital 8. Recording in both Hi 8 and in Digital 8 goes to 8 mm film, but only in the second case in digital quality and with stereo sound. The price of camcorders recording in Digital 8 is quite low. But if you choose the first camcorder, and inexpensive, it is better to pay attention to the mini DV format.
Mini DV camcorders are smaller and lighter because they use a smaller cassette (6.35mm wide tape) than Digital 8. But with slightly better digital video and stereo sound. These camcorders and cassettes for them are produced by many well-known manufacturers (Sony, JVC, Panasonic, Samsung), so there should be no problems with consumables.
DVD camcorders record directly to DVD-R/RW discs. The main advantage is that the recorded video can be immediately viewed on a DVD player, it can be easily rewound to the right moment. But the dimensions of the DVD camcorder itself are dictated by the size of the disc, so it is not possible to make it compact enough.
Among modern video cameras, you can choose those that record in Mpeg 4 format.
